Father's Day was yesterday

So yesterday was Fathers Day and we had the day to think about our Fathers their influence in our lives.

Yesterday morning I woke up a little earlier than him to make Mike breakfast before church, just as he did for me on Mother's day. No, we aren't parents yet, but maybe someday :) I made hashbrowns, waffles, bacon, and eggs. Except, I made entirely wayy too much food for the two of us. lol I guess you could say I got carried away.

We got to the church early, so Mike could get up on the stand, since he was giving a talk about fathers. I think I was more nervous for him to give the talk than he was. I was so nervous, it was almost like I was giving the talk. He really did a great job.

After church, I got set apart for my new calling. I'm now in the activities committee! I'm pretty excited because it's been a while that I've had a calling. Except, now it's a little different because it's in a family ward, not a singles ward. So I'm excited to be able to help in the committee with planning, ideas, etc.

We didn't get the chance to go to my parents house yesterday, but we plan to go over there today. I think it was the first fathers day, where I didn't see my dad at all. It really made me miss him. I thought about the influence he's had in my life and growing up, he really was there for me when I needed him. He is such a smart man and he's always been good with helping me think about situations throroughly to help make my own decisions. And now that I've been married for a couple months now, everytime we go visit my parents, my dad is a in a really good mood and laughs and jokes about all kinds of things. He gives me a huge hug and talks to me about how everythings going. It's always a lot of fun to see him in such a good mood when we go there now.

We went over to Mike's parents house around five for dinner and dessert. We watched some UFC fights and the dodgers/angels game, too. We had this tri tip that was completely amazing. I think they said they got it at Costco, but I'm not entirely sure. It was soooo good. They bought extras too, so they could make paninis with the other meat. I bet they'll be really good.

A couple weeks ago, Mike and I made some panini's with some left over meat from Lucilles. We mixed up some Lucilles bbq sauce and some ranch, to make a sweet sauce to go on the meat. It was soo delicious. We REALLY recommend trying this..lol

Anyway, today we'll be going to my parents house for Fathers day to see my family.

Until then, I have things to do around the apartment. We're still continually trying to get it in order.
