For those of you who are unsure of how Mike and I met, it all basically started on July 2 of 2008.
My family lived in Murrieta and was about to be moving to Fontana, CA at the beginning of September. I wasn't quite sure I wanted to come with them. I was considering staying in Murrieta, I'd keep my job there, be with the friends I already had, stay in the singles ward I was already in, and move in with some friends down there, instead of moving with my family.
On July 2, I had the idea to go on myspace and look up some LDS single adults in the Fontana area to ask them how they liked the area, the people, etc. Mike was one of few people I contacted. About a week later I got a good reply from him telling me about the area. He told me about the singles ward in Fontana and the people, we we just began messaging back and forth.
We ended up moving our conversation to facebook within a couple of weeks, because facebook had chat and we could talk back and forth; it would just be a lot quicker. And from there, we just started constantly texting back and forth. To get to know eachother better, we did this question thing, where one person at a time asks a question and then the other answers it and asks their own question. Eventually, we got to the point where we had run out of questions. :)
My best friend from high school, Kristina, and my grandma from AZ and her friend Dee, and I all had the opportunity to go to Nauvoo to visit church sites, from July 31-August 6th, 2008. The entire vacation, Mike and I were texting. We hadn't met in person, yet, but planned to for the first time on August 8th, the Friday after I got back, at a Rancho singles dance. Kristina and I were going to drive there and meet up with him and his friends at the dance. We were excited to finally meet in person.
The first time we had spoken over the phone was the phone call to him on Friday, August 8th, to let him know Kristina and I were leaving Murrieta and we'd be there in about an hour. Talk about NERVE-RACKING! I was so nervous to make that first call, since we had never talked over the phone before. Then when we got to the building, I had to get the guts up to walk into the building. Thanks to Kristina, she helped me the get the guts more sooner than later. lol
Anyway, things fell into place pretty quickly, I guess you could say. The next day, I drove to Fontana to watch UFC and to meet his friends and family, also. I had never really been into UFC before, but I didn't care. I was excited to come watch it with him and his family/friends.
So, there you have it. Yes, we met online. lol I promise you though, I didn't go online to FIND someone to date. It wasn't a dating site or anything like that. I just wanted to know about the area, so I could make my decision about staying or going. I know a lot of people probably don't know that story, so I thought it would be good if I posted it.
