Mike and I met first in person on August 8th, 2008 at a singles dance in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I found out about the dance from Mike via text. We had been texting for a full month before meeting in person. The week prior to the dance, I had been vacationing with my best friend Kristina and grand mother in Nauvoo, IL. While I was there, Mike and I text the entire time. I sent him pictures of the Nauvoo temple, my visit, etc. How did we start texting? Here's the real story.
My family lived in Murrieta, CA for 10 years. Until, my dad decided he wanted to buy a house in Fontana, CA. Mike had lived in Fontana for 17 years. He was attending the singles ward in the Fontana Stake and I was interested to see what the ward was like before making my decision to move to Fontana with my family or stay in Murrieta and continue working there. I had no intention of finding someone to DATE. I promise. I found a couple of people on myspace through religion and area that I could ask about the Fontana singles ward, Mike being one of them.
We then moved our messages and chats to facebook and eventually started texting. Then, we decided to meet in person at this Rancho Cucamonga dance. The first time we actually spoke voice to voice over the phone was the phone call I made to him to let him know we were leaving for the dance and we'd be there soon.
And I decided to move to Fontana with my family.
Mike then proposed on Halloween night to me at Disneyland, in October 2008. After many dates and fun outings, I had already known that I wanted to marry this "guy."
April 18th, 2009 we were then sealed in the Redlands, CA Temple at the 10am session. The day consisted of the sealing, then picture taking, getting sunburnt ha!! and then going through the Wendy's drive thru in my wedding dress, on the way to the hotel where we'd eat our much anticipated lunch. 6pm-9pm was the reception. We had some Little Caesars pizza at the church before the reception with everyone who was there to help set up and serve.
And now, Mike is in nursing school full time, while I work full time at Old Town Baking Company. And we have a daughter named Addison :) And what a doll baby she is.
Mike should be a LVN next May 2012 and then we'll see where he gets hired and where life takes us. Until then, we're just working hard to get him certified and on with his career!! Good luck, babe <3
