The last time I wrote was about three or four days after Thanksgiving. A lot has happened since then and I'll try to write about all the main important events.
Work for me was pretty insane from Thanksgiving and on. Working retail for the holiday season is pretty crazy and pretty draining. Going, going, going, angry customers, happy customers, 5 questions at once, 10 people in line, ahhh, for 7-8 hour shifts. For anyone to know really how crazy retail is during the holidays, they'd have to work it and see for themselves...lol
My brother in law Jenner came home from army boot camp the week before Christmas. It was fun to see him and also exciting for Melissa (Mike's sister) and their son Strider to be their dad and hubby again, as well. The Sunday before Christmas, we went to eat dinner at Jenner's parents house in Orange County. It was a nice, chill night to go there and eat dinner and hang out with his family. His mom scrapbooks (And she's VERY GOOD!!) and so when they gave us a tour of the house, they walked us into her 'scrapping room.' That was fun to see! A whole room dedicated to scrapping? That's awesome!
Last year, we were with my family on Christmas Eve and Mike's family on Christmas day, so this year we switched it up a little bit. On Christmas Eve day, I got off work at 3 pm and headed home to get ready for that night. We went over to Mike's parents house to make personal panned pizzas! It was so fun and they were REALLY good!! We just put dough in Marie Calendars pie pans and layered our fav toppings on top. It was a really fun idea and they turned out really good. We opened presents to and from Mike's family that night.
Here's the one I made...Mozzarella Cheese, Black Olive, Mushroom...yummm

His parents got me photoshop!! And I got some ugg-type boots from my brother in law, as well. Mike had been given a remote control helicopter, which he was just wayy excited about.
Christmas day, we were with my family the majority of the time. In the morning, we woke up early to open presents with the family. My parents got Mike and I our own little fridge for our room! Also, Mike got me some new American Eagle skinny jeans. I've never owned a pair of skinny jeans either, mostly because it's hard to find some that fit just right, but the ones he got me I love so much!
After presents and some lemon muffins at my parents house, we drove to Walnut to Mike's uncles house to do what they call 'tree time' and have breakfast. I had some yummy biscuits with white gravy on top and it was delish!! And Aunt Victoria made some cookies, too and made us up a plate. They were so good! Also, Aunt Carol Ann made all the girls necklaces. They took an hour to make each one, so she spent soo much time making them. She made all different colors for the girls, so we all got to choose which color we wanted. I chose the neutral browns/beige colored one. We got to visit with Aunt Carol and Grandma and Grandpa Waite for a while before we left, also. Carol always has some nice stories to tell us.
After Christmas in Walnut, we drove to Alta Loma to Mike's other grandma's house to stop in an say hello there, also.
Then, we came back to my parents house to play games and have Christmas ham dinner. We got a new game that's absolutely so random and hilarious called Quelf. Perfect party game. lol It has you do the most random stuff ever.

New Years Eve, we were at Mike's parents house eating finger foods and playing games until the big 2010 celebration. We played the New Super Mario Brothers game for Wii that we got my sisters for Christmas. I think Mike and I were more excited for them to open that present than anyone lol. We kept having the urge to open the wrapped gift for them, to play it and then rewrap it again. But, we held out and waited until Christmas. haha
We found out just a few weeks ago, Mike's going to be having a another surgery coming up. This will be one of a minimum of 3 surgeries. They're going to be doing another skin graft procedure to his arm that will have him out of work for about 3 weeks. This surgery will be on Wednesday, January 13th. I'm a little scared for him, but at the same time, it's just another step closer to his arm being better off. Just another step to getting him closer to other surgeries that will help him maybe have less pain in the future.
Being a new year, I'm now covered on his health plan as well! That was pretty exciting for us.
Funny story...
For Christmas, Mike wanted a new cell phone. The new...DROID...from Motorolla for Verizon Wireless. Let me give you some synonyms for the word want.
want
v.
To desire
desire, require, aspire, hanker after, have an urge for, incline toward, fancy, covet, crave, long for, lust for, have a fondness for, have a passion for, have ambition, thirst after, hunger after, be greedy for, ache*, have a yen for*, have an itch for*.
We had a little Christmas tree in our room with our presents for eachother wrapped and ready for Christmas day. Mike kept hearing a beeping sound coming from that area in our room and was flipping out to know if it was a Droid cell phone in one of the boxes that was dying or running out of battery or something. He was worried I'd be upset that my surprise for him wasn't a surprise anymore when I found out he heard the beeping.
Turns out, that beeping sound my cell phone that I had forgotten to take to work with me on the dresser next to the Christmas tree with the presents surrounding. When he got the text from an unexepected number telling him that I'd left my phone at home, he was bummed out, because then he knew it was my phone beeping. Not a Droid for Christmas.
He didn't end up getting the Droid for Christmas, but under some other circumstances, we were able to last Saturday. And they also had a deal, buy a Droid, get a Droid Eris for free, after the rebate. So turns out, we both ended up getting new phones and we're both obsessed with them! There are all kinds of free applications and games, etc. We even put all of our scriptures for church on there for free, as well. Along with our class manuals, and any other manuals you'd want. You can get the Engisn Magazine on there, Seminary Scripture Mastery cards, along with Temple Prep manuals, etc. It's absolutely awesome.
This is the Droid Eris (the one we got free with the purchase of a Droid)

And this is the Droid
Chelsey, you have to tell me how you got the scriptures on there, because my awesome hubby got me a Kindle for Christmas and I want to see if the scriptures can go on that too ...
